Not Dead

Hi folks, I just wanted to let you know that I have been (relatively) quiet today because of a panic at the day job, not because I have frozen to death, been crushed by an avalanche, been eaten by a polar bear, or starved to death due to inability to get food. Regardless of what you might hear on the news, or on Twitter, most people in southern Britain are still alive. And it is not nearly as snowy, or as cold, as it is in Finland or Canada or even Manchester.

  1. Most relieved to hear it. I too, have so far escaped death, although I fear Tybalt is plotting to eat me in the event of any blizzard-related cat food shortage. As I have put the heating on full time he really has no need to keep me alive any longer.

  2. Relieved to hear it. The weather isn’t too nice in Maryland, either, but could be worst.

  3. I read Boing Boing on and off, but back in the early 2000s I quit reading it regularly after I found that we were constantly posting links to the same things, and I didn’t want to be influenced in either blogging or not blogging something just because it had already been posted on Boing Boing an hour ago.

Besides, if it’s been seen by everyone on Boing Boing, no one would have to Twitter it, would they? πŸ™‚

    Thanks for the link!

  4. Glad to read you’re still alive despite the freezing weather and piles of snow. Up here in Estonia – and I suspect it’s true in Finland as well – our temperatures are ‘normal’ for this time of year, but the snowfall has been greater than at anytime in the past 15 years. So, pretty much business as usual. As I am ‘Walking to Rivendell’, the scenery has been gorgeous. Unfortunately my cameras is broken.

  5. I knew that already because you answered my email yesterday, but I was worried that you might be slowly freezing all the same. Thanks for clarifying! πŸ™‚
