So, I have a home of my own. I would, of course, much prefer to have a home I was sharing with Kevin, but this is the next best thing. I have a base of operations, and can begin rebuilding my life. It will take a while to sort things out. I still have stuff I need to move, I’m busy the next two weekends, and I have clients that I need to pay attention to, but at least I can make a start.
On the plus side, those people who have been wanting to send me stuff can now do so, because I have somewhere that they can send it.
On the downside, I now have a whole pile of bills that I need to pay each month. This will severely curtail my convention attending. I will still do Finncon and NZ/Worldcon, because I have obligations at both. Octocon should be doable too as travel to Ireland is fairly cheap. All other foreign travel is currently on hold pending budgetary analysis and looking for additional work.
