Via John Coulthart I discover that John Philip Law has died. Actors, of course, tend to be easily forgotten, but Pygar the Angel was indelibly imprinted on my teenage imagination and will remain with me forever.

Yes, that was one of the iconic images of the Sixties.
(But you’re too young to remember the Sixties, of course, so you must have seen him on cable…)
That’s very kind of you to say, Mike, and I’m pretty sure that I didn’t see Barbarella when it first came out. But I remember the Sixties very well, thank you. I did live through them, after all. Cable hadn’t been invented when I first saw Barbarella. We probably hadn’t long had color TV.
