And from a party about Irish cheese to an event in Ireland. Here are a few photos that I took during the signing at Chapters. There are no photos of the actual readings, because I was busy holding the video camera at the time. That’s still waiting to be edited.
(And annoyingly the photos are not displaying in the correct sequence. Sigh.)
Return to album listNeil Gaiman & Amanda Palmer in Dublin
Chapters has an excellent science fiction section (this is less than half of it)
And an excellent graphic novel section
There were some good bargains to be had, especially in the wonderful Gollancz Fantasy Masterworks series
Guess which graphic novel is currently big news
Neil’s books were piled high at the entrance
Including plenty of Sandman material
But it was another British author whose books got piled by the tills – Sir Terry is as popular as ever
Backstage, the staff had made every effort to make the stars welcome
Whether they were living or dead
The Coraline poster provided good decoration
As did more piles of Neil’s book (spot the kamikaze buttons)
The lines of people wanting books signed
Went on
And on
All around
The whole of the back
Of the store
Every one of them was made to feel welcome and special
At around 10:00pm the customers have gone and the staff are happy and triumphant. The stars are just exhausted.
