Plug-In Testing

I’m testing a WordPress plug-in that allows you to subscribe to email notification of follow-up comments. It isn’t really for here, because I get so little debate, but it may be useful on SFAW, and I’d rather test it out here first. You should see the link for subscribing if you try to leave a comment. I know the sidebar is missing on the subscription page. Please test.

  1. So far so good. Thanks folks!

Mike – let me know if you ever want help on plug-ins. Some of them are really useful.

  2. It all depends on what you want to do. I use Bad Behavior and Maintenance Mode as standard on everything. The first is spam protection, the second allows me to throw up a “work in progress” screen when I’m doing upgrades. The comment notification thing looks like it may become a regular too.

The LiveJournal cross-poster is very useful if you have a bunch of readers who hate reading blogs except through LiveJournal.

Beyond that, SFAW has a bunch of special stuff for polls and the like.

There are, however, plug-ins for very many other things. Everything from sophisticated site management to putting up random Bible quotes.
