End of an Era

Today Kevin moved out of the apartment that we shared in Fremont. With me no longer able to contribute to the rent, and him having his own financial problems, he has had to move to somewhere much smaller, and closer to work. We moved into that place together in 2001, and furnished it together. It was very much our home. And now it isn’t.

My thanks to everyone from BASFA who turned out to help Kevin shift furniture into the van today. I am so sorry that I could not be there.

  1. I’ve been a bit wrapped up in my own problems lately and then struck down with strep throat (of all things). My best sympathetic thoughts to you and Kevin. It’s hell to lose a space you made into your own. Like being hit by a car that doesn’t stop. I’m thinking of you.

  2. Ah, DAMN ! ..it makes all the difference when it’s your Own Home.Very hard for you both, I do sympathize.

  3. Thanks folks, you are all very kind. To be honest, it hasn’t really sunk in with me because it all happened 5,000 miles away. Also both of us are far too worried about other things (and relieved to be solvent and have roofs over our heads) to be too upset. We’ll keep hoping that one day we’ll be together again.

  4. We are all upset you aren’t allowed in the US any more. And we’ll continue to think up ideas to get you back here. We miss you. Not as much as Kevin, but it is real.
Continue virtual support to you and real support to Kevin during this difficult time.
    *hugs*
