Fannish Route

We’ve been examining what we can do in terms of shipping stuff to Jersey. We’re almost certainly going to have a van of our own, and we’re considering other possibilities. The dealers have also got together and started making arrangements.

However, we are aware that many of our members may have stuff they want to take with them that may be too expensive, delicate or heavy to go by air. WE MAKE NO PROMISES, but we are considering making arrangements to include this type of stuff in with our shipping.

I’m afraid we won’t take dealer’s goods. But if you have anything else please write to us with details: what the item is, how much it weighs and what size it is, how delicate it is, where it is now, how valuable it is, if you could transport it to possible central locations in the Midlands or South-East, and where it needs to be returned to. We need to know this as soon as possible, the earlier you can let us know the more likely this is to happen.

We’ll consider taking anything, but we will give priority to things intended for general use - games, programme props, art, fanzines, auction books and the like.

Again we can make no promises, we may not do this at all, but we will try our best.

One thing we will guarantee, the van we use will not be a Tardis. When it’s full, it’s full.

Commercial Route

We have contacted a shipping company who offer what we understand is a reasonable deal for shipping goods to Jersey. Helicon does not recommend this company, and any arrangement will be between yourselves and the shippers. We cannot assist financially although we will help put people in touch with one another to arrange groupages and so on.

PSL can arrange collection from anywhere in the UK. Goods will grouped at their depot in Hinckley, shipped to Jersey and delivered to the Hotel de France. It is suggested that goods should be at the Hinckley depot by *Friday 22 March* to ensure delivery to the Hotel de France by Wednesday 27 March. On top of this, you need to allow up to 3 days for PSL to get whatever it is to Hinckley (the exact time depends on how far away you're starting from).
