Diamond Chinese Restaurant
63 Halkett Place (10-15 mins walk)
A good Chinese place this, with reasonable prices. Specialises in Cantonese
and Peking styles. They do a special lunch (quick & cheap) between
12 and 2, and dinner between 6 and 11.
Gio's
58 Halkett Place (10-15 mins walk)
Decent authentic Italian. Not a huge choice of dishes but good food and
service.
Rudee's Thai Diner
9 Caledonia place (20 mins)
The place to go for good Thai food. I haven't been myself, but I'm told
that its excellent.
Befanis
La Colomberie (10 mins)
Tapas and Mediterranean restaurant. Again, I have no personal experience,
but it looks nice. If you find it a bit expensive, go to the take away
cafe next to the restaurant.
Max Tapas
West Centre (10 mins)
Again I've not been, but I hear it's good tapas at a decent price
La Capannina
67 Halkett Place (10 mins)
Good but horribly overpriced. High powered execs take people here to
impress them.
La Taverne
York Street (1 5-20mins)
A very fine restaurant. French and Italian cuisine. Owned and run by
two Italians, and the head waiter is also Italian. Highly professional
yet friendly atmosphere. Not overpriced, but not necessarily cheap either,
you pay for what you get. You can stuff yourself silly on a huge plateful
of possibly the finest spaghetti Bolognese, you will ever taste washed
down with a couple of beers or settle in for a full meal with fine wine
(of which they have a very good selection). Tell them I sent you.
New Friend Chinese
St Saviours Road (5-10mins)
Rubbish, apparently.
New Raj
St. Saviours Road (5-10mins)
1 personally hold that this is the finest Indian restaurant in Jersey,
and I am far from alone in that pinion. Both food and service are excellent
and prices are very reasonable. The only reservation I have is that it's
best to make one as the restaurant is on the small side.
